Kid Protocol is the world's leading expert in party crashing. With his video
camera penetrating even the most exclusive galas, Kid Protocol takes
audiences through the entertainment industry's back door, sans invitation.
Kid Protocol, or "KP" as he's known on the circuit, was born as part of the
Toronto International Film Festival's 25 X 25 film series. The project gave
25 filmmakers only 25 hours each to produce a short film. Searching for an
idea (and not wanting to miss out on valuable drinking time,) Amir Bar-Lev
and Alex Mamlet gave birth to Kid Protocol, the world's leading expert in
breaking into exclusive show biz parties.
KP's short film amazed and instructed audiences, outlining a variety of his
own home-brewed techniques. These include the acrobatic "Upside Down Guest
List Read," the esoteric "Chicken Monkey," and three daring limo snatches,
including the commandeering of Mark Whalberg and Joaquin Pheonix's stretch.
The buffet tables and free drinks of Sundance Film Festival 2001 were next
in Kid Protocol's moveable feast. As attendees shivered on line and haggled
with publicists, KP easily finessed his way into 18 affairs. His techniques
included impersonating a chef, a festival volunteer, and John Favreau.
All of KP's break-ins have been immortalized on videotape and are available
for study and scientific research. As his infamy grows, KP is expected to
up the stakes on his dare-devil exploits. Like a Harry Houdini in reverse,
he will vow to break into the most heavily guarded events in the world- the
Oscars, Grammies, and Golden Globes are next on his list.
